After a break last week due to illness, work, and work illness two of the team returned to the studio to open double post, say testicle on air and work out how many countries there are. And by countries we might mean a sovereign state that's a member of the UN in its own right. Or maybe we don't.
At least we had Jennifer Schneidereit from Nyamyam Games in the studio as a Super-Special Guest. She spoke about her latest game Astrologaster, which is based on the real-life story of Simon Foreman, who claimed he could cure the plague by reading the stars. Unfortunately Astrologaster is such a good game that it resulted in Jennifer being cyber-stalked by Ste (from a safe, respectful distance). Next time, if you don't want to have Ste's attentions don't make a funny game, and don't include madrigals for each character in your game. It worked for the creator of Bangman.
We also played news snap, entered a new word into the Official OLL Style Guide, and tried to figure out what E3 activations are.

It's our 400th episode! To celebrate this non-provable fact we managed to successfully not answer any questions that our listeners sent in, launched the RIO scheme, and invented a new stamp.
More importantly, we had Deborah Mensah-Bonsu from Space Ape Games on as a Super-Special Guest. She was on to advertise the already sold-out Games For Good event, which is about how games can actually be for good. We already knew about this (see: Bangman) but it's still good to hear. Plus it means that you are all ahead of the curve to book tickets for the second annual Games For Good.
Ann also managed to get some good exclusives out of Deb around what games Space Ape is working on. We're looking forward to colourful years ahead.

We all know that the people who read this part of the podcast are more involved in OLL Lore than the average (Yo) Joe, so you might be able to answer a question that Team OLL have never been able to successfully do. Does a new season of OLL start after the Christmas break, or only after our summer holidays (like school)? Our methodology has changed over time, which means that we've been going for nearly 14 years yet have 20 seasons under our belts. 21 if you count this as a new one. Which we aren't. Yet.
But anyway.
Our first show back for a new decade sees the full team in the studio to talk about New Years parties, the best way to make roasties, and how we would all check games. We also had a news quiz, found out that Ste is a snitch and had a live GDC Maraoke update.
Next week is our 400th episode. Unless you count those OLL Knights episodes, or the literally unbroadcastable ones from GameCity. Anyone want to become the Official OLL Librarian?

We're writing this in a rush so that the episode gets uploaded before half past. Therefore this will be a very short introduction.
It's a full team episode with two Super-Special Guests. SSG One is Luke Williams from Bossa Studio talking about their new game - Surgeon Simulator 2 - that got announced at the Video Game Awards. And our Second Super-Special Guest (SSSG) was Sarah Brin, who took us on an audio tour of Meow Wolf's immersive exhibition in Santa Fe.
Cheerio and see you next year!

It's another full studio this week as Ann, Ste and Simon welcomed Leo Zullo and Gareth Williams on the show to not talk about their day jobs. Instead we let them tell us all about Safe In Our World, which is the charity they co-founded that has the aim to promote and improve mental health in the videogame industry. They've helped Emily Richards remaster her Bafta award-winning game Fractured Minds, which is available to purchase and download on all major platforms.
In a Schaffer-centred start to the show we found out how old Lewis is, what he eats, and what time of the year it is best to wear his headphones. Simon went viral, Ann told us about her special advent calendar, and Ste sang dark songs with his daughter. But most of all, we were disappointed by Google.

War? Huh? What is it good for? Giving videogame podcasts an easy introduction when they're a bit stuck for ideas. And now it's a good idea for a card game. We had Ivar and Gundi in from 1939 Games to talk about Kards (with a K), a card game based on World War II. It allows alliances to be made across the divide, and friendship is always the main aim of One Life Left. Just ask Keith Stuart and Simon Parkinson for proof.
Ivar and Gundi told us how 1939 Games was started, how easy is it to get a grant from the Icelandic government, and what it was like moving from CCP Games to 1939 Games. Kards has been in early access since April, but will be officially launched in February. It's going to have a physical card version as well as a computer one.
It was a super full studio this week as Ann didn't have secret work to do, Simon wasn't doing secret work in Tenerife and Ste didn't have to lecture any sleeping students. We also tried to work out the mysteries of the University of Chichester, remembered how good looking the Bitmap Brothers were, and clarified how comfy Everyman cinemas were.

It's literally a two man crew in the studio this week as Ann was away doing work stuff. And whilst Simon was back from Tenerife he sounded a little distant at the beginning. Luckily this meant that Ste could use this space to develop his range of videogame journalist impressions in his latest attempt to become Rory Bremner. Rory B-REM-ner, if you will, and you probably won't.
We found out what Simon had been doing in Tenerife, Ste moved into the world of triple-A games, and we took the opportunity to literally settle some old scores. Clever wording we know, cheers.

As the Team went into the studio they took a moment to do a quick roll call. Ste - check. Ann - check. CD with the theme tune on - definitely check. Simon - Simon? Anyone? Simon? Apparently Simon was in Tenerife, but it was unclear if this had been cleared with HR. If you tune in next week this mystery will definitely be solved (assuming we remember it).
There was also no Super-Special Guest this week which meant Ste and Ann could talk about the most important subject in videogames over the past seven days which as we all know was: What was the most boring thing we have done recently?
We tried to work out if Ann had AR glasses, were fully entranced by Ste's Noita chat, and nearly went back on our letter ruling from last week. But we didn't. Team OLL has made a unanimous decision and we will stick with it, even if it affects our content levels.

The full team came into the studio with sufficient time for the show to start, only to find that the mixing desk didn't want to play fair. Was it upset that we didn't have a show last week? We may never find out. This did mean that this week's episode is one minute shorter than usual, but we increased the quality of the rest of the episode by 1.7% so you won't see any difference (statistic provided by Ann Scantlebury).
We managed to get Tom Vian from SFB Games in to talk about Tangle Tower, their latest release, and Snipperclips. Both games were launch titles for Apple Arcade and the Switch respectively so we had lots of questions about how what it was like dealing with Nintendo and Apple. Tom tried his best to answer those questions, without ruining any future relationships. Tangle Tower is a murder mystery game that's also available on Switch and Steam. There's also a soundtrack available, and we played some of it on the show. But more importantly, how do you make your own Snipperclips joycons?
There was also confusion about if the Playdate console had been released, Ste had an update from Reboot Develop, Simon might have finally got baseball out of his system (but his Switch habit is getting out of control). Best of all, we had a Damo update.

After last week’s transport trials we were happy to see the full team in the studio in time for the episode to start. But which one of us missed a flight in the past seven days? And which of us took advantage of the free cable cars that were available thanks to Extinction Rebellion? And did Ann get some shots?
There was no Super-Special Guest this week, but we took that as an opportunity to clarify if you needed to wear pants while playing videogames. We also found out if Dexter listens to One Life Left, worked out who was who in Ann’s family, and which of Ann’s naughty grandparents disgusted her the most with their videogame antics.
There was some confusion about the location of a letter that Tim Miller sent in, we thought Simon had found it, but maybe he didn’t. And we requested that our listeners send in cakes to the show, which works for Test Match Special. Just don’t do what a listener did with a cake that they sent to Mike Mendoza. That did not end well, or broadcastable.

The full team was back this week for almost the full episode. But which of the team let us down and came in late? Was it Ann, who finally got to show Simon her new party trick? Was it Ste, who managed to get confused as to what skeuomorphism is? (It’s like Link’s Awakening all over again) Or was it Simon, who has had a terrible week in videogame baseball? The answer is held within this episode. And gets answered within the first ten seconds after the theme finishes.
Luckily there more to this week’s episode than that. We also had live Fortnite updates, worked out which games company is going to be our next big score, and found out which of the team has been the closest to firing a gun.
And if you’re a tv company looking for a new brand to option, could you contact us as soon as possible? We’d be prepared to put you in our Apple Arcade family if that helps.

The episode was recorded on 07/10, or One Life Left Day as we always forget to say until the 9th, at which point the relevance of it has dissipated somewhat. Ah well. There’s always next year.
It’s another Ann free week unfortunately as she was ill, but she had managed to send us the news so we were not as stuck as last week. Plus we also had a Super-Special Guest! George Perkins from Super Rare Games to talk about the Switch games that his company releases in a physical form. We asked him how far in advance he knows what games Super Rare are going to release, if he keeps track of the second hand value of Super Rare’s releases, and which developer is the most attractive.
We also found out Simon’s system for remembering names, Ste told us if he was into mobile games, and we tried to work out where Alphabear 2 was on the Google Play store. If you have any leads let us know.

With Ann being out of the country in Iceland how will Ste and Simon cope? Well, Simon became obsessed with sleep tracking so it was business as usual for him. Ste however went a little off the rails and this episode became his Simon Mayo confessional. We’ll get HR to give him a verbal warning for bringing the show into disrepute.
We also spoke about unions, found out what game Simon launched the crowdfunding for, Ste explained auto chess, and Simon had a live reveal of the new Colonel Sanders.
We’re nearly caught up from our Season 20 backlog. The next episode will be uploaded this Thursday and then after that every episode will be released on Wednesday. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

What do you do when one of your co-hosts is off and another one is stuck in traffic? Ste showed one of the potential options available in this week’s episode. Luckily Ann managed to get to the studio before her text did, which meant that we’ll have to go back to solo Ste in a future season.
No Simon meant that there was no Super-Special Guest, but Ste and Ann had lots to talk about. They made an executive decision to change the format of the news, which is something that will rock videogame radio shows for years to come. The major development of the week is that Marioke changed its name to Maraoke. This news didn’t sound too big, but now you can see it written down you realise that it actually looks different.
We also found out that Ann had been watching mucky movies, Ste’s students were doing a game jam on seasons, and Ann forgot what FMV stood for. Again. We also announced the launch party of Maraoke, which is taking place on 18th October at the Loading Bar. See you there.

It’s a full team this week, but Simon is poorly so it’s more of a team 2.5. Except we had Jack Attridge on as a Super-Special Guest which boosted us up to 3.5. He was on to talk about Erica, which is also the name of his newest game. Or is it a movie? We try to work out the differences between the two. More importantly, is it a lean back or a lean forward experience? Even more importantly, what does Jack’s Mum think about Erica?
We tried to work out if we were a family, checked what we were collectively subscribed to, and did an investigation into if piracy was still popular. Simon undid one button too many on his shirts and Jack told us that he was on the BAFTA jury for best narrative game. Oh the stories he could tell!

So we’re back with season (BEEP). And we have been for the past three weeks, but we forgot to tell anyone. Included in that list was The Caretaker, which is why you’re going to have four episodes over the next two weeks. Aren’t you a lucky bunch of listeners?
There was no Simon this week, which meant this episode was a bit Taylor Swift heavy. There was no Super-Special Guest either, which meant we told you everything we knew about Death Stranding. And being our first day back meant we also got to tell you What We Did On Our Holidays.
Ste told us about his Gamescom adventures, showed us his astounding powers of recall, and also why he’s going to do a Billy Madison. Ann is now a non-Endless runner and spoiled Succession (luckily off-air). We also gave Cassetteboy a great idea for a new video, explained why Spotify has ruined the art of the hidden track, and told everyone that Marioke is changing its name. Except that was two weeks ago Grandad!
Sorry about the delay in uploading the podcasts. Normal service will resume in two weeks. Although, by us failing to upload the episodes two weeks after they aired you could argue that normal service has already started.

The last day of radio term always sees a bit of giddiness among the team. The presenters don't wear their usual radio uniform, you can bring your board games and videogames into the studio (although Simon always brings his Switch in), and Lewis Schaffer brings in cakes for us all to enjoy. But one thing Team OLL never does on the last day of term is go skiving. UNTIL NOW.
Ann decided that instead of doing the final news of the season, she would rather be driven to Italy by her in-laws. This meant that there was a news-shaped hole in our show. Normally this would result in Simon and Ste seeing what was on Eurogamer, but they had planned ahead and got Sega Badawi aka Caretaker Ben down the Skype line to tell them videogame news that was slightly too long for the news jingle. Considering that Ben couldn't hear the jingle and kept losing his place on his script it worked alright. He even provided us with some Nintendo Karen updates.
Once Ben was gone, Ste and Simon had the chance to talk about what they are planning to do over the summer and tried to clarify what the big Gamescom rumour was in 2018. We also booked our first guest of Season 20, made some Marioke announcements (and some pre-announcements), and joined the Slayers Club.
Cheerio and happy holidays!

As we all know, One Life Left is recognised throughout the world as the longest running videogame radio show and also as one of the most modest radio shows. But sometimes we need some personal thanks. A little realisation that we've done a good job. And this week's Super-Special Guest Nicholas Lovell gave us some Super-Special Thanks in the acknowledgments of his latest book, The Pyramid of Game Design. Getting unconditional thanks is really something that we don't deserve. Ahem.
Nicholas was on the show to talk about his current role, which is Games Director of Hot Wheels ID. It's a way of incorporating your physical Hot Wheels cars with an online gaming experience. The prospect of thinking how to make this as excellent as it could be is what dragged Nicholas out of consulting and back into a full time role. But mostly we tried to think of songs that we could write about Nicholas, as we made a promise to him last time he was on the show.
We also found out what Simon expects from a barbeque, if Ste is drifting, how long adult humans live for, and what Damo has been up to. The most unusual fact we discovered is how often authors get their book sales data. Although the ‘swipe before they wipe' fact was quite close.

It's a bit weird talking about yourself in the third person isn't it? Luckily this week's Super-Special Guest Ben Hall had no problems with that, but as he doesn't work in the games industry our interview with him went to places that we don't normally go to. If you need to know what the best train is in videogames, if you can get from Peterborough to Croydon without changing, and who would be our train getaway driver then this is the interview for you.
We also celebrated Amazon Prime Day (which just seems to get earlier and earlier every year), found out what Ste has just bought, try to work out where Ste is working, and we got very confused by the Kong family tree.

It seems that it was only last week that we had Ann Scantlebury on as a Super-Special Guest, and now she's performing stylish and professional jingles for one of the coolest radio stations around. That's what being on One Life Left as a Super-Special Guest will do for you, so feel free to let us know if you're interested. Being a presenter? The benefits of that are still yet to be realised.
You'll be pleased to know that there's a Damo update in this week's episode and we also get to confirm if Richard Bates is a nice person or not. However, the debate about what constitutes projectile vomiting is still ongoing.
We also find out what Ann's office is like, think of ways to make money off Telltale, learn about emergent gameplay in Dead by Daylight, and try to get Klamm to notice us. Klamm: Please let us be the One Life Left that you keep referring to.

With Ann missing at the beginning of the show and no Super-Special Guest booked, the lads took full opportunity to talk about football and if computer referees are better than computer-assisted human referees. It was actually more philosophical that it seems when we've written it down. However, Ann eventually showed up which gave us the opportunity to interview her about the latest developments at her work, without her actually telling us what her work is. We didn't even get to find out the colour.
Luckily, Ann had provided us with the latest videogame news for the start of the show, albeit with a massive chunk of news missing. Ste started the show with wet headphones, Simon was starting to move across to his summer wardrobe, and he also provided us with very specific Switch travel gaming tips.
We also found out what Damo is up to, who Ann's favourite Eurogamer is, and worked out how much money Alex Fleetwood owes us. Finally we've found a way to monetise. Monetise means blackmail right?

Only 379 episodes in and we finally get a Super-Special Guest in with the required knowledge of 90s boybands for Ann and Ste (plus a reluctant Simon) to talk about Busted and Westlife for at least twenty minutes. That SSG was Felicia Prehn from Nopia. She had flown in from Finland purely to be on our radio show, having the opportunity to finally see Westlife after over twenty years of being a fan DEFINITELY didn't have anything to do with it.
Did we talk about games during the show? Well, Felicia did teach us something about Pokemon Go, we sort-of worked out why Fortnite is called Fortnite and we decided who was the best out of Tony Gowland and J-Parks - but mostly it was boyband chat. It was probably for the best that we spoke about videogames right at the beginning of the show for once.
Luckily, the game that Felicia is working on for Nopia is related to boybands so all this music chat was adjacent to videogame. The provisional title of Felicia's game made Ste (or Ann) audibly gasp with admiration when they heard it.
And to top it off we played a track that Felicia made herself. We think that this is the only time that we've played a song on air that the SSG had made. Well, apart from that time Parko released a Marioke style cover of Duran Duran's ‘Hungry Like The Wolf' to be about his new book.
Keep 16th August free for a very special Marioke. Although all Mariokes are special aren't they?

After an episode with rave reviews across the board we shipped Sarah Brin back off to America (mostly because the reviews shipped Sarah Brin), brought Simon back for a full episode and allowed Ste in the studio. What will the reviews make of this episode? They’ll probably say it’s a bit too Muse heavy, that there weren’t enough live updates from E3 and that the chip music was slightly strange. So a classic episode of One Life Left then.
As you’d expect from the world-famous OLL team, one of us was in MCV last week. Now we just need to get that coveted centerfold photoshoot that all podcasts/radio shows want to be on. We’ve been practising our poses for over fourteen years, or is it thirteen? We forget. Or try to forget.
What else happens in this episode? Simon announces a new purchase along with a potential second purchase, we let you know what music we listen to whilst we work, there’s a mini Marioke announcement and we confirm if mountains can be metaphors.

One Life Left is known for diversification and we have now moved into the True Crime category, as - one by one - our presenters slowly go missing during the show. Firstly, Ste fails to show up. Then, Simon vanishes at the halfway point. But who could the suspect be? Is it Ann Scantlebury, the HR director annoyed with the time off requests that the team make? Could it be Sarah Brin, the not self-proclaimed Queen of Cool? Or could they both have had other engagements?
Hopefully it was the latter as we don't want either Ann or Sarah to be in trouble. Plus Sarah was our Super-Special Guest and none of our SSGs have ever been up before the beak (checks list of SSGs, places a question mark against Parko). Sarah was in to talk about her work in Santa Fe with MeowWolf, how you make an immersive installation, if you can touch a laser and answers the age old question: which came first, the Wolf or George RR Martin?
We also find out which is the best city in the world, Ann spoils the Death Stranding trailer, we work out what VR is better than, and asking if any of us have been sued gets a surprising answer from Libby, sorry, Sarah.

After a two week absence from the airwaves for two of Team OLL, the full team was back in the studio. Ann had been in Scotland, Simon was in Sweden, and Ste… well it's probably for the best that you didn't hear what Ste was up to last week.
Our Super-Special Guest this week was Ground Shatter's James 'J Parks' Parker, who has been a regular SSG on the show over the past few seasons. We spoke to him about Rico, which has now been released on all major platforms since he was last on One Life Left and is doing rather well. J Parks told us the differences when releasing games on multiple systems and which system has the most vocal users. He also jumped out of a plane wearing two pairs of glasses after going to GDC, which is what most people feel like doing after GDC. Wearing two pairs of glasses that is.
As a new mini feature Ann went a bit ASMR when telling people about their award, if this works let us know as we're always looking for monetisation ideas. We might also be having a fight with a rival OLL crew, so please let us know any fighting tips. Simon saw the saddest thing in the studio, and connected to that we found out what mode of transport Ste is really into.

After a break for Easter, the One Life Left team is back! And then going on holiday the week after due to May day. And maybe the week after that. It’s what you expect from us: Poor quantity over poor quality.
But anyway, this week’s episode saw Ann play real life Neko Atsume, Ste talked specs-y to us, and Simon made throwing a stick even more fun than it already is. We also had more Red Hot Boscombe Chat, worked out the optimum amount of people to play Towerfall with, and read out some classic emails.

Do Americans celebrate Easter? That’s the main question that we ask in this week’s episode, the first since our pre-Spring break. Ann was away, so instead of catching up on over six weeks’ worth of videogame news Ste told us what he did in Croatia, his new haircut, and what games are best to play in a hospital. Oh, he might also make a small announcement too.
We didn’t have a Super-Special Guest in the studio, but we did have Bertil Hörberg on the Skype line. Unfortunately we found it very difficult to pin him down on how many videogames he has made, but fortunately he was very willing to tell us all about Mechstermination Force, which is Contra meets Shadow of the Colossus and is available now on the Switch. Bertil is the brains behind the excellent Gunman Clive so you know it’ll be a good game.
We also found out who or what is the best replacement for a talk by Yu Suzuki, what game Ste is potentially the best in the world at, and work out once and for all which is the best out of Reddit and Twitter.
See you in two weeks time!

What better way to celebrate Simon coming back from Sweden than by having one more show before we go on a six week break? There are probably lots of better ways, but unfortunately this is the option that we have decided upon. The fewer of two evils as some might say.
With the need to prepare everyone for an OLL shaped hole in their life for the next few weeks, we didn't have a Super-Special Guest on this episode. This meant that we had extra time to fully speak to Simon about the toilet situation in Sweden, and invent a new feature for the show*. There was also time to discuss the first Marioke held at Loading Bar that wasn't hosted by Ste, a run through of the history of deck building games, and we made a mini GDC announcement.
We went interactive this week: Feel free to send us the videos of you doing the dance that Ann explains the moves to, or your drawings of the person that she describes. We would say that we'd give a prize to the best in each category, but given our track record in giving out prizes that might be a bit of a reach.
Cheerio and see you in six weeks!

After a week's absence due to various illnesses OLL returned to a studio missing one team member, who was away in Sweden. But which one was it? The mystery gets solved fairly early in the episode, this is why we're a videogame radio show and not a true crime podcast.
As Dry January has been replaced by Drenched February we had a Super-Special Guest - James Chew from Failbetter Games. Their new game Sunless Skies came out two weeks ago so we thought we'd ask him what it's like developing a game world with an existing fanbase, what it's like moving from being a fan of the series to helping design it, and how does James' degree help in his videogame career.
We clarified the Marioke franchise situation, went CD free (only one edit done in post, but more were arguably needed), tried to work out if Ste was an octopus, and spoke about the iphone a lot.

The final episode of Dry January sees the team inspired with interactive ideas. We announced the date of our Resonance FM fundraising date (Friday April 26th), and came up with an artistic competition. Hopefully when we go through the entries next week it will work as an audio event.
We've also moved into sponsorship. Instead of monetising our own brands, we've decided to monetise Rami Ismail's Gamedev.World conference. Hopefully it will turn out to have over 8,501 meetings during the event otherwise we'll not be getting our money's worth.
There's blockchain chat (we really need some Super-Special Guests soon), Simon works out how to beat loot boxes, Ste updates an old joke, and Ann helps trademark a new brand. This time next year we'll be millionaires! Which means that Rami will be a millionaire on top of the billions he already has!

Another episode with the full team and no Super-Special Guest. Luckily Simon was on hand to give it a catchy title that is in no way brand infringing.
This week Ste broke electricity, Ann told all about her teeth, and Simon bragged about his data allowance. He also potentially spoiled a film for Ann, but it turned out Ann had already seen the film in question, she'd just forgotten that she had seen it. Luckily, her personal Siri-style assistant Matt managed to explain it all.
We also discussed how we would copy Ariana Grande, the last Marioke (which had a world first for karaoke, and found out that Ste is a jock.

Wait! Check your calendars. Is it a Thursday? No. A Friday? Nope. SaturdaySundayWednesday? Sorry.
Maybe it’s Monday at 7:00pm and you are listening live? Then how comes you’re on a bus or a train or running a run or something?
Yep, as a sort-of apology for our recent lack of podcasting urgency, we present yesterday’s show. If you touch it you will see it is still warm.
So, in our penultimate penultimate show of this series:
STE! Banished from the studio for being too damn sexy!
SIMON and ANN! Host!
LEO TAN! Returns.
Fine music is played, members of the games industry who have been honoured by the Queen are threatened with extreme physical violence, and we have four EXCELLENT features.
It is an okay show. 7/10.
Hey, we’re not here next week – but please don’t let that stop you from writing us words, We’ve had few suggestions on how to further our OBE/MBE/C3PO aspirations, so get cracking on those. And if you can't think of anything, write us a letter anyway - we will literally be giving away T-shirts on our next show to people what write us.
See you the week after next!

Look, it
sounds a bit like MCV, which is where industry gatekeeper and this week’s superguest
Michael French works. He’s editor-in-chief, no less: making him, literally, the
man in charge of the games industry’s news. Marvel as we give him the customary
OLL grilling, and manage to glean literally none of his secrets.
Elsewhere
it’s business as usual. We’ve features, chat, a joke (of sorts), music and no
Ste: he’s drinking in a holiday camp once again. We secretly suspect he’s a
Redcoat . And when we say “secretly” we now mean publicly. No Ste means
horrific desk errors, due to a the schoolboy one of not actually numbering the
tracks on the CD. Our Twitter Poll (@OneLifeLeft) encouraged us to leave the mistakes in.
Blame the listeners, not the broadcasters. You know Chris Moyles records his
shows a month in advance, don’t you?
Hey, write
us: We love your letters. But if that’s not enough, we sometimes reward those
who take the time to correspond with free things – this week, we have PSP Minis
D-Cube Planet and Circles as prizes, thanks to the kindness of developer
GameShastra. And as we – or Michael – call it: these can soon be enjoyed on the
PS3. It would have been another One Life Left EX-EX-EX-excusive if the podcast
had been up on time.
Next week:
the team reunite, for our last show of the year. And most importantly, the last
show before the OLL Christmas knees-up (December 18th, from 5:00pm,
with a live show at 8:00pm. The Blue Posts, Rupert Street, Soho). It will be
literally unbroadcastable: hear it while you can.
See you
soon.
Lots of
love

Yeah, dad’s away this week, so it’s happy fun party time at OLL Towers, with a special celebration in aid of the 50th issue of ONM, in “shops” now.
Bottles of Blue Nun are downed, cigarettes are smoked out through the toilet window and a couple are discovered upstairs amongst the coats. CALL YELLOW PAGES TO TIDY UP!
Aside from a record – and show – breaking two desk errors, it’s actually business as usual at One Life Left. There are only two songs, mind, so fans of The Killers will have to wait until next week, when we *think* Ste is off again.

Cry! As we, err…
Groove! As we, well…
WHO CARES what’s in the show? Plug your earphones in, kick back, and relax as we entertain in the way only we know how: not very well. Enjoy!

"Goldeneye,” sang Tina Turner. "I found his weakness. Goldeneye, he'll do what I please.” She wasn"t singing about One Life Left, but she might as well have been. We're weak, he"s pleasing: it's this week"s special guest, Martin Hollis, Producer and Director of N64 classic Goldeneye!
Why's Martin on the show? Well, listen and you"ll find out, doofus. But if you're impatient, here"s the précis. It's to fend off questions about his current projects. What does Martin think about working with the next generation of videogame hardware? Is it true Nintendo are thinking about porting Facebook to the DS? And is he really working on the spiritual successor to Goldeneye right now?
Elsewhere, in a minor news coup, Ann reveals the exact launch year of the PS4 and the Xbox-wait-a-minute-I-can-do-this, Derek complains there aren"t enough games for him to sell in January and The Rage is missing, presumed poached. There's also some excellent music, a triplet of reviews and plenty of unprofessional bickering.
One Life Left! No time for sweetness -- but a bitter kiss will bring us to our knees. Thanks, Tina.

Ste's List Of Things To Do is largely ignored as we ramble our way through radio exclusives such as:
SHOCK PRACTISES OF SCUMBAG HARDWARE MANUFACTURERS WHO WANT YOUR GAMES TO BE BROKEN!
NINTENDO BEING SCUMBAGS!
A PEADOPHILIAC SONG COMPOSED USING A GAME BOY A BIT!
THE FIRST LOOK AT A NEW PIECE OF HARDWARE WHICH IS DIFFICULT TO DO ON THE
RADIO!
Then: The Phone! After all, when better to experiment with technology than when the desk is being driven by someone who's only driven a desk once before, and that
went very badly? I know: now.
Still, it seems to go reasonably okay, until the shock twist at the end of the show, when at which point literally – literally – all seems lost.
This episode is bought to you – unedited - thanks to One Life Left best friend Spencer Lee. Who not only provides one of the show's audio high points, but saves this episode. Literally.
Thanks Spencer. OLL salutes you. Thank him here: www.myspace.com/spencerlikesme. Thanks also to Derek, whou would have been there
if Spencer wasn’t.
Oh, music:
Knights of Cydonia 8bit (ripped from YouTube)
Agony theme, Psygnosis
Two listener contributions
Lemmings Rap 7inch, SFX
Commando them, Rob Hubbard

2) Live
gossip from the videogame BAFTAS, text-messaged in from an insider spy
3) Another
astonishing secret expert guest who comes with his own theme tune. In all caps:
who PLAYS HIS OWN THEME TUNE LIVE.
4) A
competition! An actual competition! To win exclusive Ann memorabilia!
5) Intermittent
(and unnecessary) barracking of both Jeff Minter and The Hoosiers
6) A
curiously-enraged Derek Williams
7) The podcast appearing a record 116 minutes after broadcast.
Plus all the usual stuff: music, letters, inside jokes and highly regarded (or at least regarded) features.
Thanks to Kotaku and The Guardian for the coverage this week. If you have any more places you think OLL should be, please do us the grandest of favours and let them know (and then let us know that they know). It’s always lovely to hear from you about anything else, too. You should know the email address by now.
What else? This Thursday is OLL’s very special* appearance at Nottingham Gamecity. We have no idea what that’s going to be like but please, come and say hi and enjoy a drink with us afterwards. Friday is the OLL affiliated curry-evening and Saturday is Ste’s talk about his Mum. Sunday we’re doing Handheld of a sort at the London Games Fringe thing at 333; more info on that in the show you’re no doubt already subscribed to.
Subscribers may get a secret gift later in the week. We’re not sure yet.
We’ll be adding pictures to our Facebook group later this week (Ann’s in charge) so if you haven’t joined that maybe you should. Our MySpace friends page is a good place to find all that music that Simon hates so much. And the One Life Left Forum has lots of people talking about videogame pants and much more besides. See you there.
