Raymond Szymanski, 65, spent 39 years at Wright-Patterson before retiring in 2011, and while he said he never saw any aliens, he went on a truth-seeking quest that took him from New Hampshire and Arizona across the Atlantic to England to track down those who claimed they had encounters with UFOs.
The Dayton area resident, a former Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate senior engineer, wrote \\u201c50 Shades of Greys: Evidence of Extraterrestrial Visitation to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Beyond.\\u201d
\\u201cThe tipping point\\u201d to write the book, which is written in a first-person, humorous style about his on-the-road adventures for \\u201cthe truth,\\u201d came in 2015 when he visited the place with a former logger who claimed he was abducted in 1975 by a UFO in the Apache-Sitgreaves Forest in Arizona, he said.
\\u201cThe Roswell alien thing is still a little squishy,\\u201d he said. \\u201cBut that\\u2019s different from me believing we\\u2019ve been visited. Yes, I\\u2019ve talked and interviewed (UFO) experiencers and I\\u2019m convinced that what they\\u2019ve had is a real encounter, and so somewhere along the line people have encountered alien entities on this planet.\\u201d

Dr Erol Faruk has published the findings of his investigation into a substance left on the ground after a famous UFO sighting in a book which has concluded extraterrestrial activity is the only explanation.
In self-published work, The Compelling Scientific Evidence for UFOs, the British-born chemist of Turkish heritage, examined in detail the Delphos UFO case seen in Kansas, USA, on the evening of November 2 1971.
It is considered by some alien investigators as one of the most compelling UFO cases on record \\u2013 due to the scorched ring left in the ground \\u2013 allegedly when the UFO landed.
The witness was Ron Johnson, 16, who was tending sheep on his family\\u2019s farm with dog Snowball, at about 7pm, when he spotted a six to eight feet diameter mushroom-shaped UFO appearing in the night sky.
It was described as having multi-coloured lights, and hovering about 75 feet away among trees at just a few feet above ground.
It then ascended with a blinding light. He alerted his parents who saw it disappearing from view.
But, the family found a glowing ring on the ground where it had landed, and a similar material on trees nearby.
Samples of soil, which was said to have a profound water repellant nature from within the ring were sent for analysis and stored in a number of laboratories.
According to website ufocasebook.com: \\u201cThe experience of Ron Johnson is still considered as one of the best documented \\u2018ground trace\\u2019 UFO cases of the past century, and is still unexplainable by any conventional or earthly means.\\u201d
