Healing pain with fitness with Doctor of Physical Therapy, Erin Ack

Pain is a great thing and a horrible thing. Pain the biggest factor that forces people to quit. Pain is an indicator if something is wrong or right. Pain is always going to be there even if it's stress, grief, mourning, sadness, ect. Pain is uncomfortable and a big test for your mind. Don't EVER be a slave to pain. Use pain as fuel, use it as a gauge, and when pain follows you through life activities or in your workouts, you need to define what that pain is and how to use it to your advantage. 

 

Guest Speaker & Doctor of Physical Therapy, Erin Ackerly, comes on the show to share that pain is pain that needs to be fixed with strengthening other parts of your body (including the mind). If you're dealing with pain from an injury, wear and tare, or anything else, training/movement/self care are HUGE principles that will determine if that pain will control you or you control it.
