Gut Health 101

Hi it’s me Amina Zena, your favorite personal trainer/DJ. Today we’re talking about Gut Health, Fasting and why the timing of when you eat matters just as much as what we eat. Gut health is a complex subject that can’t be summed up in 1 episode, so think of today’s episode as an introduction to a much longer discussion. Long story short your gut is full of bacteria and the food you consume can change whether those foods become good or bad bacteria.

Breaking your fast with the right or wrong food can impact how your body does or doesn’t absorb vitamins and minerals and breaks down proteins, fats and carbs. Your gut health is linked to all areas of your health, even things like your skin and nails can be affected by the digestive enzymes floating around in your stomach. We’ll also be talking about the more common gut concerns like how to avoid bloating, have more regular bathroom visits, and long term daily habits you can start working on today so that you can live your most fit and lit lifestyle.
