Fdip232: The 114th Boston Marathon

b'I had come to Hopkinton Massachusetts to run the\\n114th Boston Marathon, and found myself in the early miles facing the eventual\\nbreakdown of my body.\\xa0 From the joyful\\ncelebration of a New England town, I ran\\nmyself into the unchartered land of exhaustion and pain\\u2026and through modern\\ntechnology I broadcasted my suffering live through my blog and social\\nnetworking sites.\\xa0 I wasn\\u2019t doing that to\\nshow off or incite pity, I did it because I wanted to share my experience with\\nyou in hopes that you might want to run this race one day, and perform better\\nthan I did.\\n\\nI know this course very well,\\nit\\u2019s an old friend that I\\u2019ve visited throughout my youth and into my middle\\nage.\\xa0 I have experienced great things on\\nthis course, witnessed legendary athletes run with artistic form, felt intense\\necstasy and crushing agony and run this race even when I had nothing left\\nwithin me to get me to that finish line: but somehow, I always have.\\n\\nFor all my efforts in trying\\nto distract myself to finish this race, for trying to go, in my mind, to my\\nhappy place\\u2026I had forgotten to consider this truth:\\xa0 that This WAS my happy place\\u2026this race that\\nis more than just a race, this marathon that is known by all simply by the name\\nof the city within which it finishes:\\n\\nThis is my race: Boston. This is my town: Boston.
