Dr Reena Kotecha studied Medicine and undertook a research degree in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Imperial College London and following this spent the early part of her career serving in the National Health Service (UK) as a hospital doctor. Alongside this she is trained in the therapeutic use of Mindfulness Meditation at the British Mindfulness Institute and is a certified teacher of 'Search Inside Yourself'; a Mindfulness based Emotional Intelligence training programme developed at the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, USA. She is a professional stakeholder in mindfulness research being conducted at the University of Cambridge, UK, and also a former International Advisory Board Member of Headspace Health; one of the world\\u2019s largest meditation Apps,

Having spent the early part of her career in the National Health Service as a hospital doctor Reena experienced burnout, work related stress, anxiety & depression whilst serving on the frontline. Two weeks off-sick turned into two years. In those two years she discovered mindfulness & self-compassion practice through which her well-being started to improve. This fuelled her curiosity and expanded her focus onto evidence-based approaches that enhance staff health and wellbeing on a personal level, along with productivity, performance and engagement on a professional level.

In May 2023, Reena launched the 'Mindful in Healthcare Digital Course' designed to support the wellbeing and performance of healthcare staff. This self-paced, evidenced-based course created for clinicians by clinicians is packed with videos, guided meditations, reflective exercises, downloadable infographic handouts and experiences from the \\u2018humans of healthcare\\u2019, to help healthcare staff to thrive in clinical practice.
