The risk of exercising in the intense summer heat has resulted in the death of one child from a heat stroke . Education and increased awareness of parents, visitors and coaching staff , can help prevent dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke in young athletes. In Florida, local Zika virus transmission has resulted in infections in at least 4 people.
