I love this process and it is one of the healthiest skills you will ever learn. Being able to soothe yourself or comfort yourself while you are going through something hard is necessary. That is where you have good mental health.
People that are not able to do this are the ones that will suppress what they are feeling or stay stuck in a feeling for too long and are never able to move through it.
