Episode 114: [Teletherapy] Leveraging Cross-State Practice, including PSYPACT

This time, we’re talking about the big news: as of July 1, 2020, PSYPACT (Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) is now live! PSYPACT is now taking applications to get the APIT - Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology. PSYPACT is currently enacted in 13 states, but 16 other states have introduced legislation to join, so it could soon be in as many as 31 states. 

We discuss the different type of approvals you can apply for with PSYPACT, PSYPACT in the context of COVID, national-level teletherapy, the impact on other types of mental health professionals,  where to find state-specific PSYPACT information, the complexities of inter-jurisdictional practice, licensure standards vs. continuity and access to care, steps other mental health professionals can take to support legislation like this,  and more.
