Misconceptions of Joy

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and me in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 (NIV)

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies. And the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:16-25

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-25

But you are a chosen people,\\xa0a royal priesthood,\\xa0a holy nation,\\xa0God\\u2019s special possession,\\xa0that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9(NIV)

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together\\xa0in my mother\\u2019s womb.\\xa0 I praise you\\xa0because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14
