(Exodus 12:26-27)(NIV) And when your children ask you, \\u201cWhat does this ceremony mean to you?\\u201d then tell them, \\u201cIt is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.\\u201d

(Luke 22:15-20)(NIV) \\u201cI have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.\\u201d And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, \\u201cThis is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.\\u201d In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, \\u201cThis cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

Jesus Our Passover Lamb

1. The Lamb was spotless.

\\n

(Exodus 12:5)(NIV) The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.

(1 Peter 1:18-19)(NLT) For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless,\\xa0spotless\\xa0Lamb of God.

2. The Lamb was sacrificed.

\\n

(Exodus 12:6)(NIV) Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.

(Isaiah 53:5)(NIV) But he was\\xa0pierced\\xa0for our transgressions, he was\\xa0crushed\\xa0for our iniquities; the\\xa0punishment\\xa0that brought us peace was upon him, and by\\xa0his wounds\\xa0we are healed.

3. The Lamb was shared.

\\n

(Exodus 12:4)(NIV) If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor.

(2 Corinthians 5:19)(NIV) God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people\\u2019s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
