Escape overwhelm and help calm the body with this breathing exercise focused on a long extended exhale. We'll inhale for a count of 2, pause for 2, exhale for 4, pause for 2 to 4 and repeat. The extended exhalation is meant to stimulate the vagus nerve and studies show stimulating the vagus nerve can send a message to your body that it's time to relax and de-stress. Sound refreshing?
