We\\nalso had on one of our favorite regulars John Biggs editor of\\nCrunchGear. He just got back from CES and reported his findings to us.\\nthere weren\'t that many fitness\\ngadgets to share. But he told us some great Las Vegas trade show\\nstories and that\'s always fun. Some gadgets he did mention were:\\nGarmin\'s 405 ForeRunner and Yamaha\'s BodyBeat. \\n\\n\\nWe also got to learn all about positive parenting from Dr Kerby Alvy\\n\\n\\n\\n\\n\\n

Dr. Alvy is a clinical child psychologist and\\ninternationally\\nrespected authority on parenting and parent training. He is the\\nExecutive\\nDirector and Founder of the Center for the Improvement of Child Caring\\nwhich\\nis famous for creating model\\nparent training programs. He is also the Founder and a Founding Board\\nMember of\\nthe National Effective Parenting Initiative. Dr. Alvy is a prolific\\nauthor of books and articles on parenting, parent\\ntraining, child development, and child abuse prevention, as well as\\nauthoring\\nand co-authoring parenting education programs and seminars. Tonight he\\ntalked about the topic of childhood obesity form his his book The\\nPositive Parent.\\nRaising Healthy, Happy and Successful\\nChildren Birth- Adolescence. Dr. Alvy said that dealing with a child\\nstruggling with being overweight or obesity usually requires some\\nprofessional help. And that the parent has to deal with their own\\nfeelings regarding weight and their child\'s weight in order to be\\nsuccessful. And he emphasized the importance of the parents role\\nmodeling a physically active lifestyle and healthy eating. \\n\\nThen\\nwe had Rachael the\\nIntern who scoured the internet to find these cutting edge workout\\nclasses. First she talked about the Circus Workout. Then she told us all about the Bride Workout. And she ended with the Fat Guy\'s favorite Swing Set Fitness class. Rachael has been a great help with our MySpace and Facebook\\npages. Amazingly\\nthe Fat Guy is being followed by close to 3 dozen people who are interested in\\nwhat he eats each day. Who would have thought?\\xa0 Anyone can follow the\\nFat Guy\'s eating exploits on Twitter.\\xa0 Food\\njournals are great ways to lose weight and the Fat Guy is always trying\\nanything in order to lose those last 20 pounds. So take a peek\\ninto his\\nfood diary. You never know what he\'ll write. Somehow he can stay\\ncompliant to writing on Twitter but he can\'t fit in exercise each day.\\nThat\'s right, moments after he eats something the Fat Guy\\nTwitters about it and you can follow him so that one day if you try\\nreal hard you too can look like the Fat Guy. Hot\\nmom, Kathie Larkin was back in the studio lending her thoughts and\\nlaughter. She even started a new segment where she asks Dr Fitness a\\ntough question about something in the news. Tonight she asked him what\\nhe thought about eating cloned meat. You know\\nKathie as the host of\\nReal\\nSavvy Moms.\\xa0 Real Savvy Moms is a great show for hot moms, fat moms,\\nall kinds of moms and is\\navailable on most PBS\' around the US and\\nonline and now on in Atlanta. Remember\\nwe are now on every morning in Michigan. On radio station WKNW. They asked us to\\ncreate a Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy "Wellness Minute." So now a new\\nWellness Minute runs on that station each morning at around 7:40. Each Wellness Minute\\nfeatures the doctor and I going over 5 of his best tips on a given\\nwellness subject like: losing weight, getting in shape, living a\\nhealthy lifestyle, etc. We\'re working on ways to make those tips\\navailable to all our listeners.
