b'Is Losing a part of Growth?\\u2049\\ufe0f\\n\\nThis morning, my two lovely children Precious and Peter were having their breakfast when suddenly Precious screamed with excitement, with her mouth wide open and her palm displaying her Molar (big tooth). \\nIn her voice \\u2018mummy mummy my big tooth just fell off\\u2019 \\n\\nIn my mind I was like why is she excited? I was more particular about the blood coming from the site( not much though), the pain she might be having and I was concerned she might not be able to eat well. \\n\\nTo my surprise Precious was more excited as she said to me \\u201c Mummy, that\\u2019s means I\\u2019m growing \\u201c\\nHmmm! There and then it occurred to me that she\\u2019s so right. \\n\\nYou see, the path to greatness is not a paved road. It is filled with potholes of lament, moments of utter frustration, and relentless attacks of doubt. \\n\\nBut one aspect of this journey that can land a huge blow is losing- to become a loser, to lose, to not win, to be last.\\n\\nHave I lost before? Yes\\nHave you lost before? You tell me. How do you feel?\\n\\nThough Precious lost a strong and important member of the tooth family (molar), useful in the mastication process, she was more focused on the fact that a new molar will spring up as she grows. \\nYes when we lose something or someone we consider very important like the \\u201cMolar\\u201d, we feel like we are over or life is over, \\n\\nThe thing is, ultimately, losing paves the way to your learning and learning is an invaluable tool for growth.\\n\\nIn my personal journey in life so far, there are moments when I am stopped in my tracks, simply because I choose too.
