Abdur Rahman Ibn Awf (ra) Session 36, Sayidul Muslimeen. The single lone voice of  Abdur Rahman (ra) persuades the Caliphs, Umar (ra) to return to Medina and not advance forward within the military ranks... 'If Umar (ra) is defeated, Islam is finished.' One of the Ten, Saad (ra) is appointed as the military commander. Umar (ra) disallowed the early Mohajaroon leaving the capital, Medina, as this would inadvertently cause a civil war.
