Verily your children are a gift from you Lord to you. Hasan al Basri (rah), the coolness to the believers eyes is to see their beloved in obedience to Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ. Whosoever loves a long life and an increase in sustenance should be dutiful to parents. The angel of death draws near to remove a soul but the deed of being good to parents intercedes and thus the angel retreats.
