9. "Youth Ministry is 366 days a year." with Roger Wade

Roger R. Wade was born on the island of Trinidad in the West Indies. He was educated in Trinidad,

New York, Maryland, and Oakwood College (now University) in Huntsville Alabama.

Roger R. Wade has a passion for the church's most precious resource --- the youth. He has worked in

Youth Ministries for the past 40 years leading out as AY leader to Union Youth Director and served as

the first Director of the National Black Youth Resource Center, which was on the campus of Oakwood

College (now University) in Huntsville, Alabama.

Since his call to the organized church in 1998, Roger R. Wade has served the Northeastern

Conference, the Southern California, the Southwest Region Conference, the South Central Conference;

and as of April 1, 2019, he began serving as the Church Ministries Director of the Mid-America Union

Conference. In July of 2003, Pastor Roger R. Wade was duly ordained to the work of the gospel

ministry. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, God has used him to date to baptize over 850 persons.

Roger R. Wade has written many articles; travels preaching and conducting seminars and

workshops; serves as a consultant to the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist Youth

Ministries Department and the Black Adventist Youth Directors’ Association (BAYDA); produced and

coordinator for the first ever Young Adult Initiative – Genesis 2000 Satellite New Years Eve Broadcast,

volunteered at the National Pathfinder Camporees held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; served as Camporee

Director for the BAYDA’s Knowin’ Him Pathfinder Camporee; served as producer for many large youth

events; and volunteered on numerous community Board of Directors.

Roger R. Wade is married to the former Lorraine Lawrence of Neptune, New Jersey. They have one

college-age son: Anthony Roger Richard Wade.
