This week, Daniel sat down with southern, queer filmmaker Bo McGuire to discuss his debut film, “Socks on Fire”.

Daniel and Bo chat about the vision behind the film, the inherent Southernness in the film’s DNA, and what comes after “Socks on Fire”. The film is an experimental documentary tracking McGuire’s shifting family dynamics after the death of a matriarch. It won the jury prize for best documentary feature at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival.
