In the previous sermon we considered both the importance of understanding that marriage is a covenant instituted by God and the instructions that Paul gives in Ephesians 5 to the husband to love his wife \\u201cas Christ loved the church\\u201d. In this sermon we will turn our focus to Paul\\u2019s instructions to the wife in Ephesians 5 to submit to her husband \\u201cas to the Lord\\u201d and what it means that the husband is the head of the wife \\u201ceven as Christ is the head of the church\\u201d (Ephesians 5:23). What God\\u2019s word teaches us about submission and headship is often controversial, even unacceptable to many Christians today. But if we are going to get the Christian family right, we need to understand these important things and then by faith obey God's word.
