Cassandra is a 34 year old secular humanist and atheist.\\xa0 Growing up in her conservative military household, she was constantly uprooted. While the family was stationed in the Bible Belt during her teenage years, religion became the driving force of her life. During this time,\\xa0 she became entrenched in fundamentalist Baptist schooling and developed close relationships with church youth leaders. Upon graduation from high school, Cassandra headed off to bible college.

Cassandra, like most young christian women, desired to marry and start a family. She married a fellow student her Junior year of college. She and her husband became leaders in their church.

After seven years of marriage, wrestling with infertility and suffering in an abusive relationship, Cassandra chose to leave both her husband and the church.

Today, Cassandra, remarried, works as a child advocate for a non profit.\\xa0 She and her husband enjoy camping and hiking in the beautiful Southern Appalachian mountains where they live.
