A True Friend Knows – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1857 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from William Arthur Ward, and it is: A true friend knows your weaknesses, but shows you your strengths, feels your fears but fortifies your faith, sees your anxieties but frees your spirit, recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.
A True Friend Knows

Most of us will only have one or two true friends during our lifetime. Few of us have the capacity to invest that deeply into the lives of others. For me, that would be Granny, who I love more deeply than anyone else. She knows my weaknesses, fears, anxieties, and disabilities better than I know myself. The opposite of that is also true. These limiting character traits do not become a point of contention between us, but rather an opportunity to deeply invest in each other’s lives to strengthen and build up one another. We are to point out our friend’s strengths, not emphasize their weaknesses. We are to fortify their faith, not highlight their fears. We are to give them the freedom to grow, not hinder them by collaborating with their anxieties. We are to show them their possibilities for the future, not give them reasons to see their disabilities. As Christ-followers, we are to build up and strengthen our fellow believers at every opportunity we are given, so our friends can maximize their God-given talents and abilities.

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.

As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of ‘Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.’
