Productive Coaching – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1828 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from James A. Belasco, and it is: A productive coaching relationship begins with two people with fires in their bellies: one who wants desperately to move forward and another who yearns to help that person make the journey.

Effective coaching requires a willing and qualified person to coach and another person who strongly desires to receive the instruction from the coach. Effective coaching will not happen if you are missing either of those elements. Intense desire must burn within the soul of both persons. We all need coaching in life. It may be formal coaching, such as on a sports team or a business situation, or a relaxed position where a parent teaches their children appropriate behavior or practical skills. If you are the coach, you need to have a passion for assisting others in growing and flourishing. If you are being coached, you need a desire to learn, improve, and excel. When this combination matches up, there is no limit to what can be accomplished. In Biblical terms, this same process is called discipleship. Jesus Christ was a master coach to those who followed Him. Those being disciples had a burning desire to be taught. We are also called to spread the Good News by making disciples through the great commission.

They said to each other,

“Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?”
