When God Stepped Into Time – Meditation Monday

Wisdom - the final frontier to true knowledge.  Welcome to Wisdom-Trek! Where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy.  Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1209 of our Trek, and it is time for Meditation Monday.  Taking time to relax, refocus, and reprioritize our lives is crucial in order to create a living legacy.  For you, it may just be time alone for quiet reflection.  You may utilize structured meditation practices. In my life, meditation includes reading and reflecting on God’s Word and in prayer.  It is a time, to renew my mind, refocus on what is most important, and making sure that I am nurturing my soul, mind, and body.  As you come along with me on our trek each Meditation Monday, it is my hope and prayer that you too will experience a time for reflection and renewing of your mind.

We are constrained by time and space, so it is difficult to imagine not having those barriers.  We are bound and controlled by each day and the ability to be only in one location.  In today’s meditation, let us consider:
When God Stepped Into Time
When God entered time and became a man, he who was boundless became bound. He became imprisoned in flesh. He became restricted by weary-prone muscles and eyelids. For more than three decades, his once limitless reach would be limited to the stretch of an arm, his speed no faster than the pace of human feet.

I wonder, was he ever tempted to reclaim his boundlessness? In the middle of a long trip, did he ever consider transporting himself to the next city? When the rain and wind chilled his bones, was he tempted to change the weather? When the heat parched his lips, did he give thought to creating a cool, clear bottle of water?

If ever he entertained such thoughts, he never gave in to them. Not once. Stop and think about this. Not once did Christ use his supernatural powers for personal comfort. With one word, he could’ve transformed the hard earth into a soft bed, but he didn’t. With a wave of his hand, he could’ve boomeranged the spit of his accusers back into their faces, but he didn’t. With an arch of his brow, he could’ve paralyzed the hand of the soldier as he braided the crown of thorns. But he didn’t.

He stepped out of eternity at the moment of conception, when the divinely fertilized egg of the virgin Mary began to multiply during the next 9 months.  He went from needing nothing, to being completely dependent on the humans which he had created.

In an instant, he went from needing nothing to needing air, food, a tub of hot water, salts for his tired feet, and, more than anything, He needed to begin the process of building God’s kingdom on earth.  He, the perfect one trained and used us, who are imperfect, to become His tools for building God’s kingdom.

Though everyone would ultimately forsake Him in the hour of His greatest need, he still continued on robed in His limitations as a man.  He could have called 10,000 angels with one word to destroy those who tried to destroy Him, both in the physical and spiritual realms.

He was blamed for and took on himself every sin committed beginning with Adam and Eve and then stood in silence as a million guilty verdicts echoed in the tribunal of heaven and the giver of light was left alone in the chill of a cold night.

After three days in a dark hole separated from both God and man he stepped back out of t...
