E74: WOW: Cold Plunges

Cold plunges! Wim Hof is a wonderful guide into the world of breathwork and the benefits of the cold. 

Today's episode shares some of my experiences with cold plunges, including my plunge-run 10 miles-plunge early-in-the-day adventure with a new friend. I've also compiled some of the studies mentioned in the episode that detail what changes occurred in individuals who began cold showers or plunges. Benefits of cold showers and plunges include reduced inflammation, improved circulation, enhanced immune system function and fat burning, blood sugar regulation, mood boosts and enhanced antioxidant activity, to name a few. There are others.

If you're not yet cold plunging, take a listen and perhaps try 10 seconds of less-warm water at the end of today's shower, moving to 10 seconds of cool water tomorrow. After all, you'll never know if you never give it a go...
