E63: The stolen phone

Published: Nov. 15, 2021, 11 a.m.

Thanks for listening today, friends! In the fall of 2019, on a post-intense summer job road trip, my phone was stolen while I was spending time with an old contact. It was a very interesting time, and I thought it prudent to share thoughts on the technology dependence many people have... and what that can open up for learnings and growth when it is no longer available. Paper maps, handwritten address/contact books, and spatial/situational awareness are things that can be learned, and serve as backups when technology fails. My experience was a challenge, but I not just managed--I thrived! Today we focus on some of the lessons learned when the phone you store your acoustic and photographic memories on is no longer part of your human experience.
