E120: Learnings from 5 months in the truck

Published: March 13, 2023, 10 a.m.

I spent a lot of the past 5 months dry camping in my truck as I explored the desert and participated in the trail and ultrarunning communities. Today's episode is a synopsis of the motivation for the trip, as well as what I learned.

The main reasons for the trip were to see friends, explore the desert, try out the snowbird lifestyle and connect with the community I enjoy in different places. There are a few things I'd change about my camping setup, the routes I took, places I still have yet to experience, and taking much less stuff... that's not at all to say it was a bad trip, only that there's ways it could be improved.

I also chat about what I learned and some of the key takeaways from the whole experience making new friends, seeing new places, reconnecting to old ones, and attempting to date along the way. The passenger seat is still open, and there will be more space and a greater degree of comfort this coming fall.

Thank you for listening! As always, you can connect with me on Instagram or through cactusmoose@protonmail.com with questions, comments and guest requests. Enjoy!
