Joshua: Onward To The City of Ai - Another Victory or Defeat for Israel?

Israel knew that Jericho was won for them by God's Arm and not by their own power, but they still chalked this major victory up to their military prowess and might, even though the walls fell down without them actually doing anything to make this happen.

Also, God told them that Jericho and all that was in it after they were defeated was to be dedicated to Him alone. After knowing what God said, one man still decided to disobey and steal from God. 

Achan of the tribe of Judah, took from Jericho a beautiful robe from Babylonia, two hundred shekels of silver and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels. This made God's anger burn against Israel for this sin and not just against this man.
