Sarah actually laughed when she heard about the promise, as she doubted too. All indications are that this is impossible. But God made it so. Then, God commands Abraham to sacrifice his beloved, promised son of the promise! But, now Abraham obeys in full faith without doubting God. Even Isaac submitted to being sacrificed.
