At this point we are introduced to a very peculiar character, Melchizedek King of Salem. Abraham meets this special king after returning from battle victoriously.

Interestingly,  this Melchizedek has no human lineage and also was identified as priest of God Most High! Who could he really be?

\\n

Psalm 110:4, Hebrews 5 and 7 all equate the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ, with Melchizedek: Psalm 110:4 "The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek." Also stated in the book of Hebrews chapter 5.

\\n

As the priest of God, Melchizedek brought out bread and wine and blessed Abraham, saying,   "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High,  who delivered your enemies into your hand."  Abraham then tithes to Melchizedek!
