We begin our study of the Old Testament book Song of Solomon. (In Hebrew, \\u201cSong of Songs\\u201d). This book, like Ecclesiastes, Job, Psalm and Proverbs is one of the Bible\'s five poetical books. The poetical books are also considered more personal and experiential in nature as opposed to the historical or doctrinal, etc. books of the Bible.

By its title we can easily know that it also was written by king Solomon. The Song of Solomon was the second of the three books of the Old Testament he wrote, which are Proverbs, Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes.

King David, who was Solomon\'s father wrote many of the Psalms which actually are songs. Being the wisest mortal that ever lived on this earth, history holds that Solomon composed many songs as well as wisdom-filled proverbs.

Join the class as we embark on our study of this beautifully poetic and emotional "love song". At first glance, it seems to be a romantic record of the deep and pure love developing between a man and woman. However, like so many passages in all of the books of the Bible, the true meaning of it lies below the surface.
