This is Dr. MaryAnn Diorio, novelist and life coach, welcoming you to another episode of Winning with the Word. Today is Monday, February 14, 2022, and this is Episode #7 of Series 2022. This episode is titled "Whose Report Will You Believe?" I receive a lot of prayer requests through my ministry. I am always honored to pray for the people who send me their requests. But one thing I frequently notice is that may Christians believe reports other than the Lord's report. What do I mean? Well, let me give you a practical illustration from my own life. Almost 27 years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was 50 years old at the time and had a 22-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old daughter. Needless to say, the diagnosis came as quite a shock. I am a health-conscious person and never expected such a diagnosis.  Thankfully, I belonged to a church that preached the Word of God without compromise. I had heard many sermons on healing. So, when the attack came on my body, I already had the Word of God hidden in my heart. What I needed to do was to use it against the spirits of sickness. It was crunch time. The time for the rubber to meet the road. The moment at which we know whether or not we truly believe God. I won't say that it was not a battle to keep my mind and my emotions under control. Fear assailed me day and night, but I would fight it with 2 Timothy 1: 7: "God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind." I kept at it until, finally, I experienced the victory of healing. You see, my friend, the battles we fight are in our minds. When you think about it, we live our entire lives in our minds. The mind is the referee between the Truth and the Lie. But the mind must know both sides in order to be a just referee. We get to know the difference between the Truth  and the Lie by studying the Bible, which is Truth. In the Bible, the greatest book of all time, we gain insight into how Satan works against us. Satan is a pure liar. The Bible calls him the "father of lies." The chief way he works against us is through the Lie. He continually wants to get our eyes off the Truth and onto the Lie. The truth says that you were healed by the stripes of Jesus. The lies says that you are sick because the lab report says so. So, whose report are we going to believe? Thankfully, I believed God's report in His Word over my own lab report. I believed what the Word of God said, that I was healed by the stripes of Jesus. I am here today because I believed God's report over every other report. You see, my friend, there is a difference between Truth and Fact. Fact is temporal, meaning it is changeable. Truth is eternal, meaning it is unchangeable. A lab report can change in the future. It is temporal. But the truth of the Bible is eternal, and it can never change. Doesn't it make more sense, then, to place our trust in God's Word that can never change instead of a lab report that can change? If you are facing sickness today--or any serious, seemingly impossible challenge--believe God's report over your earthly re...
