This is Dr. MaryAnn Diorio, novelist and life coach, welcoming you to another episode of Winning with the Word. Today is Monday, July 12, 2021, and this is Episode #23 of Series 2021. This episode is titled “Where Is the Fire?" _______________________________ If you discovered the cure for cancer, what would you do? Would you not shout it from the rooftops? Proclaim it to everyone who crossed your path, especially those suffering from the disease? Would you not rush to doctors and hospitals to tell them what you'd discovered? And schedule interviews on major news channels to notify the entire world? One thing I know you would not do, and that is keep the miraculous discovery to yourself. Why not? Because, if you're like me, you care about people. You don't want to see them suffer. You want to do whatever you can to put an end to their suffering. Yet, the truth is that we Christ-Followers do, indeed, have the cure for cancer. And for everything else that ails the human race. That cure is Jesus Christ! Then why aren't we shouting Jesus from the rooftops? Why aren't we proclaiming Him to everyone who crosses our path, especially those who are sick and suffering? Why aren't we telling the world the Good News that Jesus died to set them free? Here are a few reasons I've observed in my 50-plus years of walking with Christ: 1. Christians are more focused on the things of this world than on the things of God. Eternity seems a faraway place at a faraway time. Yet, truth be told, eternity is merely a heartbeat away and a veil's width away. Any one of us could be alive one moment and dead the next.  2. Christians are more concerned about what people think about them than they are about what God thinks about them. This is called the fear of man, and God hates it! We live in an age of political correctness that has caused even the Church to fear man more than God. 3. Christians as a whole are not taking the Lord's imminent return seriously. They think that the Lord's return is far off, and that it will happen when it will happen. There's no need to think about it. Yet, the Bible commands us in Luke 21: 28 to be intentional about looking for the Lord's return: "So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!” Do you find yourself in one or more of these reasons for not proclaiming Christ? If so, it's time to repent and to start telling everyone you meet about Jesus. The time is short. If people do not come to Christ, they will go to hell when they die. And if we did not tell them when we had the opportunity to do so, their blood will be upon our heads. If you are a Christian, you hold in your hands and in your heart what the world desperately needs. If you withhold it, you withhold it to your own peril and to the damnation of souls. But if you proclaim it boldly and passionately to everyone you meet, you will receive the crown of rejoicing, as promised in 1 Thessalonians 2: 19-20, the crown that goes to all those who are faithful soul-winners.  It's time to rekindle the fire of the Holy Spirit in you!
