Practicing Lectio Devina: 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 (followed by this brief message from the Text)

b'This particular Sunday we practiced Lectio Devina in both worship gatherings on 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. We spent 30 minutes reading and listening to the Text together three times. After listening each time, people shared what they were hearing directly from the text. It works like this:- First, each person prayerfully listens for a word or phrase directly from the text. Then we shared that word or phrase. - Second, each person prayerfully asked the Lord how this word or phrase was speaking into their lives. Then we shared. - Third, each person prayerfully asked the Lord what He might be calling them to do about what they heard. We shared. - Afterward, Fred shared a brief homily of the Text in order to uncover a deeper theological implication in our lives as we filter what the Spirit was leading each one to know through "The Foolishness of the Cross."'
