The Pleasing Aroma of Christ

In 2 Corinthians 1 we could see how God displayed his strength in Paul’s suffering and weakness by bringing comfort to the church. In this week’s passage, we can see how God displays his strength in Paul’s (and our) suffering and weakness by making the church a greater witness of Christ and the gospel. Paul talks about being captives for Christ, the aroma of Christ, and a letter from Christ, all for the purpose of spreading the knowledge of Jesus ‘everywhere’. Under God’s sovereignty and with his confidence, we can share the gospel with everyone, whether they are destined for life or death, knowing God has it all in control.
