Zucchini Church (Luke 5:27-39)

Published: April 25, 2020, 10 p.m.

The Holy Spirit is everywhere, creating, equipping, and leading people into new life, freedom, and salvation. Sometimes we get so fixated on what is going wrong that we miss out on what God is doing right under our noses. Jesus says that sometimes what God is doing is so new that we need to find new ways to understand it and share it with others. New wine needs new wineskins, he says.

In this podcast I will invite you to think about how planting zucchini might be a good way to think about our calling as a church in this uncertain time of pandemic and social distancing.

These three characteristics of being a "zucchini church:"

·        Recognizing that God is at work all around us, right under our noses.

·        Appreciating the blessings and limitations of “big.”

·        Thinking small, planting early and often.
