Worship and COVID-19 (Psalm 150)

Published: Aug. 21, 2020, 8 p.m.

How can God's people worship during a pandemic without exposing vulnerable neighbors to the threat of COVID-19? How should Christians respond to restrictive measures, like facemasks, social distancing, and limiting indoor worship events? The Bible is full of stories about how God's people worship in extraordinary circumstances--like exile, or slavery, or even a pandemic! In today's podcast I offer a broad, biblically view of worship: the offering our whole selves as a living sacrifice, not just for an hour on Sundays, but all 168 hours in the week.

"What do you think about churches worshiping together in public during COVID-19?"

Key Bible Passages:
Psalm 150, Romans 12

Four ways to worship during COVID-19:
1. In the home (Deuteronomy 6)
2. In your neighborhood (Jeremiah 29)
3. In a small group (Matthew 18)
4. Serving the poor (Matthew 25, James 1)
