What You Didn't Know About the L.A. Riots (Part II)

Published: March 8, 2019, 8 a.m.

After the Rodney King trial, and the acquittal of the police officers accused of brutality, Los Angeles exploded. Marginalized communities took to the streets, taking people from their cars and beating them, shooting up businesses, looting, and setting fires in the name of King.

Thousands of people lost everything, and over 60 people lost their lives.

We welcome my mother, Margaret Stevens, for a very special and poignant episode that involves my father almost becoming a casualty of the tragic 6 nights of rioting in South Central.

Please note that this episode involves subjects including race and police brutality. There are also descriptions of graphic violence, so please be advised.

This is what you didn't know about the L.A. Riots.
