Johnny Tremain is based on the 1943 Newberry award winning novel by Esther Forbes and was adapted for the screen by Disney in 1957.\\xa0 The following year Liberty Street was to open at Disneyland, but sadly never came to be.\\xa0 However, when the Magic Kingdom was built in 1971 it was built with Liberty Square and The Liberty Tree from the film.
