The town used to be called Mauch Chunk, which in american indian means bear mountain. The name was changed in 1954 to Jim Thorpe. \\nSwitch back gravity railroad led to the invention of the roller coaster. Railroad was used to haul coal.\\nChris and Dave did a demo of a Chef Not Strawberry huller to remove the stems from strawberries."
