We've got a bunch of goofy storylines in the latest episode of our reality TV show government, and they all revolve around power. Everyone wants it. So everyone is doing whatever they can do to get it. However, no one will admit to it. In 21st-century Western society, openly seeking power is gauche. So everyone hides behind all sorts of justifications. They tell us lots of different stories about how no really they aren't trying to get power actually they're sacrificing themselves for the good of the rest of us yeah exactly that's it.
