Strengthen The Faith

b'"I am not a woman." I hope, when you look at me, this is a fact that goes without saying. Nor am I a mother. I have not ever been a mother, and I have no plans to ever become a mother. This fact is also fairly obvious. I tell you this because I want you to understand why, for me, the Mother\'s Day sermon is one of the most difficult sermons to preach. How am I supposed to relate to being a mother? For many women, Mother\'s Day is a painful day for a number of reasons. Many of you are reminded, every Mother\'s Day, of something you\'ve lost, something you\'ve never had, or something for which you feel completely inadequate. This is a daunting task, for which I feel completely inadequate. But, I believe that the Holy Spirit gave me a very clear word on how to handle this year\'s Mother\'s Day message. And, what\'s more, it comes right out of our series in John. The passage we\'ll be looking at this week is John 20:24-31 - The record of "Doubting Thomas." And, in the most unlikely of passages, I believe God is going to encourage every mom, no matter what struggles or joys this Mother\'s Day brings your way. So, I can\'t wait to see you on Mother\'s Day! P.Dave'
