Larger Than Life

b"I have spent my first Spring in Iowa fascinated with the planting of corn fields; from the plowing of the fields to the planting of the seed to the sprouting of the corn. First the young seedlings sprout in perfectly straight, spaced rows. A field that was once brown is now green with corn stalks. This would not be possible if it were not for each individual plant. While the entire field is needed for a great crop, each individual plant is needed to make up the field. A similar thing is true for the church, without each individual there would not be the church. Yet what our culture tells is that we, as individuals, are what is most important. Yet if we followed the culture's lead there would be no church. So there is the rub. Who do we listen to? How do we know if we are living individualistic lifestyles? This weekend I hope to get us thinking about how we, as individuals, are to live a balanced life. I look forward to seeing you this weekend. Pastor Jeff"
