His audience embraced all sorts of pagan philosophies, idols, and temples. Some believed God was in everything; some believed that if the gods existed, they were not at all concerned with the world. Paul\'s response to the Athenians has been called a "divine philosophical discourse." He found windows of opportunity to relate to his audience so that he could tell them the good news of Jesus.
