Hostility & Hope

b'In Iran, a pastor is sentenced to 6 years in prison. In India, a mob attacks a village of Christians, burning homes to the ground and killing many. In Eastern Europe, genocide is committed against an entire group of Christians. On the Arabic Peninsula, a new Christian brother is "black-listed" and unable to find work of any kind. In the West, Christians holding to the exclusivity of the Gospel increasingly find themselves as closed-minded haters. And, as a result, they receive the hate and scorn of the world around them. The world is a hostile place for the followers of Jesus. Jesus warned us that it would be this way (John 15:18). This is true for the modern church. It was true for the ancient church. But, in the midst of this hostility, the early church didn\'t despair. In fact, they found reason to hope and rejoice! On Sunday, we continued our series "Acts: The Church Unleashed" and saw how the hope of Christ shines bright in the darkest of moments.'
