Hate crimes are a despicable and evil thing that unfortunately exists in this crazy world. In 2017 alone, there were 8,828 victims of various hate crimes, reported by police in just the United States. This was nearly a 6% increase from 2016. The vast majority of these crimes were motivated by the targets ethnicity. Something that is 100% beyond their control. With the rising number of reported hate crimes, it’s not even a surprise anymore when a person reports it. Sometimes, these things happen to celebrities with a large platform, and they often use that platform as a way to raise awareness and try to make a difference.
