Matthew 13:1-9

That same day Jesus went out of the house\\xa0and sat by the lake.\\xa02\\xa0Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat\\xa0and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore.\\xa03\\xa0Then he told them many things in parables, saying:\\xa0\\u201cA farmer went out to sow his seed.\\xa04\\xa0As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.\\xa05\\xa0Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.\\xa06\\xa0But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.\\xa07\\xa0Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.\\xa08\\xa0Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop\\u2014a hundred,\\xa0sixty or thirty times what was sown.\\xa09\\xa0Whoever has ears, let them hear.\\u201d
