b'"Why do podcasts have to die so soon?"\\n\\nAfter a 6 month hiatus, the UW Film Club Podcast is back! These are unparalleled times, and we sincerely hope all of our listeners are doing as well as possible. Our intention, as always, is to provide a thought-provoking and entertaining listening experience to everyone, and we hope we can provide that for you all, as jaded and exhausted as many of us are at the tumultuous state of affairs happening before our eyes. And on this episode of the podcast, we (us UW Film Club officers) are all similarly jaded and exhausted as we talk about the devastating and powerful WWII anime drama, Grave of the Fireflies. We talk about this film as a sign of the times, how it compares to other Studio Ghibli works, and inquire over director Isao Takahata\'s intentions behind its themes. Is Grave of the Fireflies as anti-war film, or not? Will the struggle ever end? (We don\'t have the answer to the latter question). But regardless, tune in to the 70th episode of the UW Film Club Podcast, our long-awaited return!\\n\\nOn this episode: Jim Saunders, Cynthia Li, Joel Garcia, Stephanie Chuang, and Issac Flores\\n\\nYou can find us on Facebook at /UWFilmClub, and on Twitter and Instagram @FilmClubUW. Make sure to rate, comment, and subscribe to our podcast on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Spotify, and Google Play, and tune in every week for a new episode of the UW Film Club Podcast!'
