The Journey Matters More Than the Destination

The meaning of the word “Journey” is a trip or experience from one place to another. Life is a series of smaller destinations filled with lessons, hardships, joys, heartaches, celebrations and special moments. As a congregation we are beginning a new jour- ney. New beginnings can be filled with fear, anxiety, and excitement at what is to come. Transitions can be hard, and we all begin this journey with so many questions, ideas, and beliefs about what will happen. Soon those thoughts, questions and beliefs will stop being about the future and will quickly become the present. Learning to celebrate and be in the moment is something that I learned a lot about this past year by living in South Africa. As your Interim Minister, I invite all of you to come and begin this jour- ney with me. Together let me share with you my thoughts, my hopes and my dreams as we learn how to seize this moment in the history of this congregation.
