The Revana people, including Layla, had been flying at near-lightspeed\nfor close to three years to settle on the new planet they were missioned\nwith terraforming. It was going to be their new home.\n.\nAlerts started popping up all over Layla\u2019s screen. As chief navigator it\nwas her job to make sure everyone stayed on course to the planet. Layla\nscanned her screens and her face started to burn red. Mortified, she sank\nto the floor; she had failed her crew.\n.\nLayla read her screen again. \u201cFifteen degrees? We\u2019ll miss the planet\nentirely!\u201d\n.\nIt\u2019s all my fault. Tears started to leak out of Layla\u2019s eyes. She got\nback up into her chair and put her head in her hands. \u201cThere\u2019s nothing I\ncan do to fix this,\u201d Layla thought to herself. \u201cEven if I over-correct our\ncourse, we don\u2019t have the fuel to make up for the lost distance.\u201d\n.\nSuddenly, a message alert popped up on Layla\u2019s screen. The preview message\nonly read, We can help. Attached were the sender\u2019s credentials,\nidentifying it as an official freighter ship.\n.\nWithout hesitating, Layla accepted the message. Right now, she needed all\nthe help she could get.\n.\nIt appears your ship is off course and will collide with a nearby moon if\nnot corrected, a voice crackled over the system. Do you need assistance?\n.\nYes! Layla blurted. How can you help us?\n.\nOur ship is a t24 freighter, so we have a large hauling capacity. If you\npower down, we can tow you back onto course and help you avoid collision.\n.\nThat would be amazing, but why would you help us? You don\u2019t even know us.\n.\nI can see you\u2019re a terraforming ship so you have civilians onboard, and\nthe rule of our ship is to come to the aid of any vessel in need.\n.\nYes, we do have civilians. I I made a mistake, and I couldn\u2019t fix it in\ntime with our fuel supply. We needed your rescue.\n.\nWe\u2019ll be at your location within the hour.
