b'Kyle hesitated as he came to the doors of the library before opening them\\nand slipping inside. Book dust wafted in the air, illuminated by golden\\nshafts of light that poured in from the tall windows. The rotunda of\\nbookshelves surrounded a wooden desk, where an old woman sat in a wooden\\nchair.\\n.\\nKyle bit his lip self-consciously as the woman smiled at him. \\u201cCome here,\\nchild,\\u201d she said in a grandmotherly voice. \\u201cStep into the light.\\u201d\\n.\\nKyle approached cautiously.\\n.\\n\\u201cYou\\u2019ve come for a book?\\u201d\\n.\\nKyle could only nod. \\u201cReading is the only way I can escape my present\\ncircumstances, the endless consequences of past mistakes,\\u201d he thought.\\n.\\nThe old woman scurried across the room and plucked a blue book off the\\nshelf. The gold letters of the title lit up softly in the radiant\\nsurroundings: Kyle Meyers. \\u201cWhat?\\u201d Confusion filled his mind.\\n.\\n\\u201cGo ahead.\\u201d The woman smiled. \\u201cOpen it.\\u201d\\n.\\nKyle grasped the book and flicked through the pages. Memories of joy\\nand sorrow\\u2014of each moment of his life\\u2014danced across the pages. The day he\\nlost his first tooth\\u2026 the birthday spent at the beach\\u2026 the first band\\nrecital\\u2026 then\\u2014\\n.\\n\\u201cNo!\\u201d he sobbed as he saw pictures of the moment he had regretted for\\nyears. He reached to tear it out, but the woman laid a gentle hand on his\\narm.\\n.\\n\\u201cKeep going,\\u201d she whispered. Painfully, Kyle continued through the memories\\ntill he came to a page that reflected his own face.\\n.\\n\\u201cThe past mistakes and sins that plague us can be fuel used for regret and\\nshame,\\u201d the woman said, \\u201cor they can be used to show how much God can\\nchange us! He will use those chapters of your life. And Jesus will walk\\nwith you every step of the way.\\u201d\\n.\\nKyle\\u2019s eyes filled with tears.\\n.\\n\\u201cLet the Great Author take those pages and use them for something better\\nthan you could imagine!\\u201d\\n.\\nKyle looked back at the page and watched the tear stains on his face glow,\\nthen dissipate. As he closed his eyes, a smile of relief crossed his\\nface. \\u201cTake these pages,\\u201d he prayed as he held up the book. \\u201cThey\\u2019re all\\nyours, Lord.\\u201d \\u2022 Lily Walsh\\n.\\n\\u2022 Even though our sin might have lasting consequences, God is so good that\\nHe works good out of even our worst moments (Romans 8:28). How can this\\nchange the way we view our past? \\n.\\n\\u2022 Have you seen God use a mistake from your past to help you or the people\\naround you? Consider taking a moment to thank Him for this.\\n.\\n\\u2022 Why is it hopeful to know that God writes the stories of our lives, and\\nHe doesn\\u2019t give up on us?
